In 2014, a social networking group was formed on the Wechat social network platform to promote primarily communication amongst Australian Doctors from China. Since then the membership has increased significantly with doctors joining from all over Australia. With over 300 active members the group became an effective and friendly platform for GPs and specialists alike to exchange information, seek expertise and obtain fresh ideas and help for their patient's care.
With the growth and maturity of the Group, in 2018 the Group transitioned into the Australian Chinese Doctors Association (ACDA), an organization of Chinese medical practitioners who promote and advance the quality of health care in the community. ACDA is a not for profit organization and is run by volunteer committee members.

Our duty

The Australian Chinese Doctors Association(ACDA)澳洲华人医生协会is an organisation of Chinese medical practitioners who promote and advance the quality of health care in the community.
1.Organising educational activities
2.Platform for group members to communicate and discuss medical issues from day to day work service
3.Improving communication and connections between GPS and specialists
4.Improve profiles of our association and its members in our community.

United we will lead:

1. The promotion of the health and wellbeing of our membership through social networking, professional support and connections
2. The promotion of the health and wellbeing of the Chinese and broader community within Australia
3. The continuation of Medical education and development of medical practitioners and community via all available communication.
4. As a voice on matters of health and wellbeing for the Chinese and broader community
5.The promotion of professional ethics, humanitarianism and multiculturalism in the modern medical environment.

Members must:

1. Treat other members in the online chat group with respect and courtesy.
2. Treat other members, guests, staff of venues and other patrons (where an association function is being held) fairly, equally and with respect and courtesy.
3. Behave responsibly and ensure they conduct themselves in a manner which will not injure the reputation of the Association, its events, organisers, participants or sponsors.
4. Not physically, verbally or online harass, bully, criticise or intimidate others.
5. Report any inappropriate behaviour of a member to the Committee of the Association for action and follow up.
6. Refrain from commercial, political, religious, racial or discriminatory comments or promotions either online or at the Associationʼs functions
7. Abide by and uphold the Constitution and Code of Conduct.
8. Pay any fees in relation to an event, or offering (e.g. tickets or memberships) which that member has committed to, regardless of whether the member attends the event or not.
9. Notify the Associationʼs Membership Officer of any changes to address

Members have a right to:

1. Be treated fairly, equally and with respect by the Association, its Committee and other members.
2. Socialise in an environment free from all forms of harassment and discrimination.
3. Privacy and confidentiality concerning records, documentation and any other communication containing a memberʼs personal information, unless consent is otherwise provided.
4. Be informed and actively involved in all associations events and offerings.
5. Voice their opinions, requirements and suggestions to the Committee.
